News for Members 2018

Members I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your patience as result of the administrative issues that DOGSACT encountered in 2018. At times it was hard with numerous work around solutions to overcome the administrative issues. We were indeed fortunate to have DOGSNSW provide us support, thank you to Lyn and her DOGSNSW staff, especially Anthony!!

The councillors and I believe we are in a better position with our members services, with our office staff doing a sterling job to get DOGSACT to this point. DOGSACT council will continue to strive hard to improve services for its member base and our surrounding dog community and will implement some new initiatives in 2019. I am excited with what we can achieve for 2019!!

To you and your families, I wish you a Merry Xmas and a prosperous New Year!

Simon Mills

President of DOGSACT

URGENT INFORMATION TO ALL DOGS ACT MEMBERS

Dogs ACT wishes to advise members and exhibitors that we have been advised that a dog that was exhibited on the grounds last weekend (29/30Sep & 1 Oct)has been diagnosed with parvovirus. The dog was vaccinated, the owner caught it early and the dog is recovering well. We will be taking steps to spray the grounds with a parvocide. In the meantime, training classes will be relocated to another area. In the meantime, please watch your dogs.

EXHIBITORS – Dogs ACT are trialling a new concept for our shows and utilising under cover areas for our shows to beat the hot weather conditions.  Dogs ACT will trial this concept on Sunday 28th January 2018 for its 2 championship shows.

If successful Dogs ACT are considering a show season for future summer periods to enhance our show calendar.  The proposal would be to hold a ch show on Sat evening then 2 more ch shows on Sunday – all under cover & out of the heat. Less to pack up means you would be away more quickly too.

The advantages for YOU the exhibitor are:

  • Under cover area with plenty of ventilation;
  • Solid asphalt surface;
  • No need for canopies/gazebos/sides;
  • Lighting, if required;
  • Huge amenities block;
  • Camping facilities 20-30 metres from rings;
  • Parking within 15 metres of rings; and
  • Ample exhibitor areas for set up(meaning less equipment required for all).

Come along to the Sunday shows & see how it would work for you, enter the shows and tell everyone how good it could be. We look forward to seeing you there – enter soon. Schedule posted on both Facebook & also on our website calendar 27th/28th Jan 2018.
