We are not a Government body. We abide by the ACT Government regulations of owning and keeping dogs in the ACT.

The A.C.T Canine Association inc. (trading as Dogs ACT) is the controlling body for Pure Bred Dogs and Dog Sports within the Australian Capital Territory and is a supporting member of the Australian National Kennel Council.

Our primary objective is to promote in every way, the general improvement of pure bred dogs, responsible dog ownership and the varied roles in which dogs contribute to today’s society.

People considering taking ownership of a dog, first need to ensure that their circumstances will allow them to give the dog the due proper care every dog deserves; and that they take into account any likely hood of changes to these circumstances.

The owner of a dog should always provide for its physical, emotional and behavioural needs including your time, appropriate food, water, exercise, housing, hygiene, health care.
